WINNER
Playstation Sunglasses
ILONA VERESK
Ilona D. Veresk photography with her entry ‘Playstation Sunglasses’ snatched the first place in the Technology category of the MIPA Spring Edition 2019. Ilona is a Russian fashion and fine-art photographer who has been exploring a number of deep and personal themes in her work. Her MIPA submission is a thought-provoking one, posing an existential question about how we perceive life in today’s day and age, with the fine line between virtual and reality being blurred each and every day. With Ilona’s experience also spanning into the fashion industry, this winning photograph managed to perfectly merge together technology and fashion, into a beautifully styled shot that will surely make its viewers think a lot.

2ND PLACE Devices
MITJA LICAR
"Devices" by Mitja Licar Photography snatched the second place in the Technology category in MIPA Spring 2019. The picture, styled as part of a commercial shoot for high-end data collection devices, is a perfect rendition of how technology has become an integral part in every corner of our world. These IP67 data acquisition modules, used for field testing in very rough and harsh environments, showcase the huge steps technology has made in order to help produce better products and systems for the ever-evolving world we live in.
3RD PLACE
Cargo
DAVIDE LOPRESTI
This wonderful drone shot of a cargo ship ranked at third place in the Technology category in MIPA Spring 2019. The photo was taken during docking manouvers at a merchant port. Cargo shipping bridges the industrial gap from one country to another, connecting continents and transporting anything from regular goods to medicine and cars, right to the consumer. As technology changes, the world is changing with it, and in the shipping industry technology has become crucial, especially for logistics, security and tracking services. In this shot, the colours from the containers on the ship and symmetry of the tug boats all seem organised well into a complete composition. The photographer, Davide Lopresti explains that “The world of drones has opened horizons, landscapes and architecture take on new life, portrait sessions become new and unexpected perspectives”.
